New-Onset Postoperative Seizures in Patients With Diffuse Gliomas: A Risk Assessment Analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Glioma-related epilepsy (GRE) is the most common presenting sign of patients with diffuse glioma. According to clinical experience, new-onset postoperative seizures can be observed even in without preoperative GRE. The current study mainly aimed explore risk factors those patients. In addition, prognostic value was also discussed. Methods: Data 313 GRE were retrospectively reviewed. Chi-square test or Fisher's exact first performed compare categorical variables between and without. Subsequently, binary logistic regression analysis conduct further assess seizures. Kaplan-Meier Cox used investigate for progression-free survival (PFS) overall (OS). Results: Patients low-grade tumors ( p = 0.006), isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) mutation 0.040) low Ki-67 expression 0.005) showed a higher incidence IDH1 identified as only independent predictor (OR, 2.075; 95% CI, 1.051–4.098; 0.035). Additionally, seizure occurrence demonstrated an predicter prolonged OS 0.574; 0.335–0.983; 0.043), while younger age, gross total resection, independently correlated PFS. Conclusions: Moreover, predict results contribute improving individualized management

Clinicopathological factors predictive of postoperative seizures in patients with gliomas
PURPOSE Epilepsy is one of the most common manifestations in gliomas and has a severe effect on the life expectancy and quality of life of patients. The aim of our study was to assess the potential connections between clinicopathological factors and postoperative seizure. METHOD We retrospectively investigated a group of 147 Chinese high-grade glioma (HGG) patients with preoperative seizure t...

RATIONALE Recent data suggest that children with new-onset seizures may be at increased risk for behaviour problems. Teachers are an excellent source of data about such problems. They do not have the potential bias that a parent worried about a new onset of seizures might have and, furthermore, they are accustomed to comparing performance of children and work in an environment in which the beha...
متن کاملEpileptic seizures in diffuse low-grade gliomas in adults.
Diffuse low-grade gliomas are highly epileptogenic brain tumours. We aimed to explore the natural course of epileptic seizures, their predictors and the prognostic significance of their occurrence in adult patients harbouring a diffuse low-grade glioma. An observational retrospective multicentre study examined 1509 patients with diffuse low-grade gliomas to identify mutual interactions between ...
